Pantone Color Report Fall 2018
We get so giddy with the thought of Fall… Especially when us Floridians spend most of the year on the surface of the sun. Yes we’re being dramatic, but it’s also somewhat true. One of the things we love most about Fall are the color palettes, because at the base of every great design is a perfectly matched color scheme!
In this blog, we’re serving up some Fall color palette inspiration along with the intention behind each hue.
If you’ve been around the block, you know that each year Pantone releases their top picks for seasonal colors. This momentous occasion could definitely be considered the event industry’s NFL/NBA draft.
It’s so exciting to see what colors we may get to play with throughout the year, as they catch the eyes of our clients.
Institute Press characterized Pantone’s picks for Fall 2018 as: “Autumnal hues that evoke the feeling of leaves on the forest floor, rich plumage and twilight reveal a modern fall palette of deep and rich tones with outbursts of colorful surprise.” Now that sounds like a romance novel- so color us ready for a stroll through the forest.
While this doesn’t look like a “traditional Fall color palette” we love its opportunity for unique looks. After all, self-expression is always in style!
Red Pear: Deliciously deep red, whose luscious depth entices.
Valiant Poppy: Brave and outgoing red shade effusive in its allure.
Nebulas Blue: Reminiscent of twilight, a thoughtful, starry-eyed blue.
Ceylon Yellow: Savory and spicy yellow adds an exotic touch.
Martini Olive: Smooth, sophisticated and urbane green adds depth to the Fall/Winter 2018 palette.
Russet Orange: This forest floor orange speaks to earthen warmth.
Ultra Violet (Color of the year!): Inventive and imaginative Ultra Violet lights the way for what is yet to come.
Crocus Petal: A cultivated and refined hue adds a light and airy spring-like feeling demand.
Limelight: Animated and effervescent, a pungent yellow-green becomes the center of attention.
Quetzal Green (Our personal fav!): A deep elegant blue-green hue suggestive of rich plumage.
A Modern Bohemian [Rhapsody]
We’ve got modern bohemian vibes on the brain!
Recently, we took part in a modern bohemian wedding inspiration photoshoot at the gorgeous Art & History Museum- Maitland. This venue is jam-packed with old-world charm and Mayan Revival architecture from the 1940’s. Melanie Paige Events was inspired by the grounds, and transformed the Chapel and Courtyard space into a modern-boho dream!
Bohemian design meets acrylic details with this ceremony and reception set up. Our ghost chairs have a weightlessness to them, allowing the architecture to speak for itself, while creating a modern & cool effect. For the tablescape, our 8ft acrylic table kept things from appearing heavy as it was adorned with floral and geometric charger plates from Treasury Rentals. Our ghost chairs were transitioned from the ceremony space to the mock reception, keeping a consistent look.
To infinity and beyond!
We are absolutely in love with how our Infinity arch was transformed! While it’s beautiful on its own, we can’t help but be obsessed with the hanging pieces and statement floral.
And can we talk about the dress for a moment?! The fringe, wow. The crochet / lace detailing, WOW. Stunning!
Boho vibes aren’t all teepee’s and deserts. You can truly make this design style you’re own- especially being in Florida, where there are no deserts… obviously. We love the idea of mixing in modern details because it’s like you’re getting the best of both worlds! The key to a bohemian [rhapsody] is a care-free attitude and some fringe (which never hurt anyone!).

This week, we are so excited to feature the owner of Runway Events, Rebekkah Rosado, who is just as sweet and bubbly as you would expect. Whether you explore her website, exchange a few e-mails or meet her in person, you will be completely drawn to her and in awe of her genuine personality and passion for what she does. This coffee connoisseur also appreciates good music and a delightful glass of red wine. Her company specializes in everything across the event planning spectrum – from month of/day of, partial and full wedding coordination, to concerts, rehearsals, fashion shows and destination weddings. They even take care of the floral, styling and the design of the event!
We have thoroughly enjoyed working with Rebekkah over the years. Rebekkah and her team are very well-known in the Orlando area as fun, but hard working professionals who go above and beyond for their clients, and you’re about to see why:
When did you decide you wanted to start up your own business?
“It was the scariest but the most rewarding decision I have ever made…”
My dad has always been an entrepreneur. He’s a dreamer and super creative – so growing up I saw the good, bad and ugly of the business world. I adored the fact that i could dream big and as long as I was motivated and hard working enough I could reach them! I worked for many different companies throughout my life and I was never completely happy. Although grateful for the opportunities, I had a higher standard of excellence that was restricted with the companies I was employed with. In 2012, I realized I wanted to own my own event planning company. I worked two other jobs while working on a business plan, brainstorming and taking on my first few clients. It was the scariest but the most rewarding decision I have ever made. I am so blessed to have an amazing and supporting husband on my side to keep my motivated to do what I love!
What is your favorite part about planning weddings?
Oh gosh, literally everything. I may be a little crazy but I love running around like a crazy person, meeting deadlines and rolling with the punches. I think the most rewarding moment is seeing the vision of the couple come to life and seeing their faces when they walk down the aisle. First look or not, it’s still a breathtaking moment.
How do you keep up with the latest wedding trends?
Blog! Plus, almost every other major metropolitan areas get trends before we do so I am always researching what the top industry professionals are doing and taking their lead on standards and design.
How would you describe your style as a wedding planner?
“I am not only their wedding planner but also a friend during the process.”
I am organized and detail oriented but I also believe in actually enjoying your wedding planning process! I am a big believer in setting expectations to avoid confusion and elevate stress. I love to have fun. I honestly think one of the hardest things about planning is the fact that family and friends can be overwhelming and stressful. I always leave my door open for my couples to reach out. I love fashion, music and the entertainment world and am always learning and growing and striving to be the best I can be!
How crucial is day of/month of planning, in your opinion?
Insanely important. I completely understand if budget doesn’t allow couples to hire someone for full or partial planning but seriously, I have no idea how anyone can put together a successful event without one point of contact. As a day of/month of coordinator, I touch base with all the vendors involved in the wedding. Because I plan a wedding almost every weekend, I know what to look out for, help avoid mistakes that have happened in the past and honestly streamline the process. This way, your photographer can get the best photos, DJ can focus on actually playing music and your catering can make sure the food is nice, fresh, and served on time.
What sets Runway Events apart?
Honestly, we’re fun. You will get a few serious moments from us, but for the most part we want you to enjoy your day with your style and have a few laughs along the way. Everything is better with a smile on your face! We keep up with trends and fashion and want to make your wedding timeless. We are honest and up front about what works and what doesn’t – just because we want your day to be absolutely amazing and you to look back saying it was one of the best days of your life.
What advice do you like to give to newly engaged Brides?
HIRE A PLANNER! HAHA, just kidding – but really. Remember what this day is truly about. You can get so preoccupied with family drama, finances, logistics and design but remember at the end of the day it’s about the moment you get to share with the love of your life. Lastly, BE YOU. I think the most successful weddings are a direct reflection of the bride and groom and you can see it everywhere you look. When you try too hard to be someone else – or someone different – it can show. When you look back at the photos or the videos, you won’t be as happy as if you kept it close to your heart.
I have to ask on behalf of all of the fellow coffee lovers out there, what is your favorite coffee shop in Orlando?
OH MAN! Vespr in Waterford Lakes is one of my favorites. I also love Downtown Credo in College Park. I love to support local businesses, as they are some cool people, too.
