Trendy Vendy- Pavone Events

How lucky are we to feature Pavone Events as our Trendy Vendy not once, but twice! In this Trendy Vendy pt. 2  Lead Planner & Designer, Andrea Pavone, is sharing some of her tips & tricks for planning a wedding, in her own words!

A wedding is one of the most important days in any couple’s lives. From engagement photos, to selecting vendors, to making checklists and choosing your wedding party, there are a lots of items that need to be planned out in an orderly fashion up until you say those two magical words “I DO”

With May, comes spring (actually more like summer because..Florida) weddings & specials! Be sure to read all the way to the end to check out an extra special, promotion that Pavone Events is extending to couples looking to #planwiththepeacocks. We hope you enjoy this goldmine of planning tips from a planner!

Planning a wedding can be stressful but it doesn’t have to be!  I have been a firm believer in having a great team of vendors that work together. That usually starts with either the venue or the planner.  As a planner, I usually like to work with vendors that are familiar with our client’s venue and that also have a great working relationship with each other.  The more vendors you know, who know each other, the smoother the day will go. They know best how to work together towards the common goal,  which makes for a seamless day for our couples!

Tip #1

Hire a planner.

I cannot stress this enough. I got married two years ago and had been in the industry for over a decade and hired a planner for my day.  Not because I couldn’t plan the wedding on my own, I knew most of the vendors I wanted to work with, but I didn’t want to have myself or my family and friends worry about anything that day except for having a great time.  Depending on your specific needs a planner can help throughout the whole process starting with budget and design, attending vendor meetings all the way to just simply managing the day of and taking over 1 month out.

Your venue/catering coordinators, while helpful are not wedding coordinators and will only manage certain aspects of the day.  Your wedding planner will be there with you to help make decisions, shield you from any mishaps and make sure all the vendors and events start on time.

Tip #2

Be realistic about your budget.

The Knot released an article that the national average for weddings is $35,329.  While there are some weddings that can be done on a budget, weddings still cost money.  Hiring a planner can help you save some money as they are able to recommend vendors that match your vision & budget.  Also certain vendors offer vendor pricing which many planners pass along the savings to their clients.  A planner can think of ways to maximize the $$$ on items that are a high priority to you and figure out ways to make the budget stretch on items that aren’t as high on your priority list.

Tip #3

Hire professional vendors.

While friends and family may want to help, at the end of the day they are wedding guests as well and should be able to enjoy the day as a guest.  Planners have access to some of the best in the industry and will work to match you with the best fit for your budget, style and personality.  While Mom and Aunt Susie may want to make the centerpieces they too should be celebrating with you while you are getting ready and enjoying the day instead of running around trying to set up miscellaneous items for the wedding. These are moments you cannot get back and it’s a time to share the day with those closest to you.

Tip #4

Make your wedding your own.

Remember what’s important..your fiancée/ fiancé, family and friends. You’ve  found the love of your life and the wedding is a celebration of you both. That being said, you want it to reflect your fabulous style and taste. Incorporate things you enjoy into your wedding, whether it be your love for travel or music to your favorite colors.  Make your wedding unique.  A  lot of our couples are doing things like having color in their wedding dresses, naming tables and theming décor to incorporating cultural aspects into their day.

We have also had couples include their children into the wedding, whether it be a son walking his mom down the aisle to having both bride and grooms children be the bridal party and doing a family unity ceremony.  We also see a lot of our couples forgoing some of the traditional parent dances, cake cutting and bridal party introductions.

We have also had couples include cultural aspects into their wedding.  Recently, we did a multicultural wedding (Indian and Columbian) and we did a two day wedding celebration incorporating both cultures.  For the indian wedding, the mother of the groom made a traditional Guyanese Black Cake.  For the American Wedding, we had Colombian coffee as the favors and also had Hora Loca dancers for a “Crazy Hour!”

Tip #5

Enjoy the moment!

During dinner, stop for a minute and take your new husband or wife’s hand. Look around the room at all of your guests….take a deep breathe and take it all in. This is the only time in your lives when all these people will be in the same room together, and it’s all for you. Feel that love!!

Trendy Vendy- Dandy Details Events & Design

This week’s Trendy Vendy is none other than the team over at Dandy Details Events & Design! Rachael & Taylor are besties and boss babes with 10 years of wedding industry experience between them. Dandy Details strives to make every wedding one-of-a-kind with their off-the-charts creativity & professional experience! When you work with Dandy Details, you’re going to get the best possible service & experience. Whether you select one of their planning packages, or something more custom, the Dandy Details team will “work to ensure that all of your details fall seamlessly into place, so that you can relax on your big day.” –Rachael & Taylor

We’ve had the pleasure of working with them on several styled-shoots (some are published on Borrowed n’ Blue) and events, alike. We’re always amazed at what they come up with! Check out their answers to our questions below, and get a look at their work in action!

How did you get your start?

Our company first originated in Tampa where Rachael planned a stunning backyard wedding on the bay. The couple wanted to incorporate classic British traditions along with some of their favorite local elements such as, their favorite downtown food truck! The backyard was decked out with market lighting, a dance floor, lounge areas, and a super cool antique bar! Rachael immediately knew she wanted to plan weddings for her career, and that she loved working with couples who have a unique vision for their wedding day.

Rachael continued to grow the company in the Orlando area and Taylor joined her in 2016! Together, they help couples tell their story by designing and planning unique and memorable weddings filled with personal details that truly represent them as a couple.

What services do you offer?

Everything from day-of/month-of coordination to full planning and design.

How would you describe your décor/ design style?

Trendy and unique, but always with a touch of class! We love helping our clients take their vision to the next level, and coming up with creative concepts that incorporate their personal details into the wedding.

How do you keep up with the latest wedding trends?

Wedding publications, social media, and (surprisingly) interior design magazines! So many trends stem from home décor elements, and we love it.

What sets you apart from others?

The friendships we develop with our clients and their families throughout the planning process, and the desire to create a fun and memorable wedding planning experience for all of our couples. We love helping couples tell their story, and it’s wonderful to see all of their guests enjoying those special moments with them!

What advice would you give Brides during the design/planning process?

Don’t be afraid to incorporate your personal style into your wedding. After all, the day is about you and your fiancé- you should make it yours! A professional planner and designer can help you bring all of your ideas together and incorporate them into the wedding in a beautiful and tasteful way.

Who is your style icon?

Jackie Kennedy. She was sophisticated, stylish, and always hosting parties at the White House!

When you’re not helping clients, what can we find you doing?

Rachael is usually enjoying a good cup of coffee, working out, or spending time with family and friends. Taylor can often be found working on new home project or relaxing by the pool!

Fun Facts about you:

  1. Rachael has a background in theater and stage management, and it really shines through on wedding days when things need to be kept on track!
  2. Taylor used to teach preschool before she found her calling in events. The kids were so cute and you never knew what they were going to say or do next!
  3. We get REALLY excited about wedding details. We spend way too much time texting each other photos of different table designs and dreaming up new concepts ????

Trendy Vendy- Weddings by Carly Ane’s Floral Studio

Our Trendy Vendy for this week is none other than our good friends over at Carly Ane’s Floral Studio! They’re a family owned business committed to serving every customer with the highest quality florals & gifts with the best price possible. Their staff is incredibly talented with creativity off the charts as evidenced in the many weddings, & style-shoots they’ve worked on! When you work with Carly Ane’s you know you’re going to get quality customer service, and quality products.

Whether you need flowers delivered around the world or just around the corner, we’re here to help. Our experienced professional floral consultants are always happy to help you select the perfect floral expression. Simply let us know your list of special occasions you wish to be reminded of and we won’t let you forget them.

How did you get your start?

“Dave’s father started the business in 1982- naming the shop for his daughter, Carly Ane. Helping at the studio ever since he was in high school was only natural for Dave to learn and grow with the company. This year he’s taken on Weddings by Carly Ane’s as his own adding Jaimz as Design Consultant and Marketing.

She started in the event industry planning and organizing cast parties and celebrations while working in the area’s theme parks. After some time working in the coordinating and cakes part of weddings she landed in floral and design- and loves every minute of it!”

What services do you offer?

“We offer full wedding floral design and some décor rental such as arches, shepherd hooks, vases, candles. Etc. Within out 5,000 sq.. ft warehouse our clients are sure to find what will best meet their design needs.”

What inspires your floral designs?

“The clients! A couple’s personality and sense of style should come through in their floral and décor. We want them to express themselves the best way possible for their big day. We like to listen to what our brides and grooms want the overall look and feel of their wedding day to be, not what someone tells them they must have.”

How do you keep up with the latest wedding trends?

“Keep an eye on the internet! Fashion and seasonal colors play a lot into floral palettes. Also, pay attention to the past- popular trends have a way of coming back around full circle.”

What sets you apart from others?

“We care- a lot- about our clients and the success of their events. Anyone can sell you flowers and make arrangements but it’s the connection and interaction with a vendor who has your best interest at heart that makes the difference. We don’t have one-time customers. We have families who planned their weddings with us in the 80’s and now the children of those couples are coming in to plan their own celebrations. Birthdays, new babies, anniversaries, weddings- they stay with us through all of life’s occasions… and we’re here for their calls!”

What advice would you give Brides during the design/planning process?

“Take your time and get a full vision together of what you want. Do you research and don’t fall in love with something if it’s not realistic within your budget. Trust your professionals and ask their advice on what options you have to make the most out of your day. And when it comes down to it- have fun!! Stressing about every little detail is the surest way for you to look back and wish you had just let go.”

Fun Facts about you:

  1. Both Dave and Jaimz are big fans of the Dallas Cowboys!
  1. Dave enjoys Formula One racing, golf, and Jelly Bellys.
  1. Jaimz has blue hair (currently), loads of tattoos, performs improv and burlesque in the area, and- yes- is a girl!
  1. Our warehouse space is large enough to hold parties and events- and we did just that recently with our first open house!

Trendy Vendy- Andi Mans

We sat down with our good friend and Cindy Crawford look-alike, Andi Mans for our Trendy Vendy this week! Her creativity astounds us and her passion for her community is awe-inspiring. Andi has her own business here in Orlando that is constantly pushing the limits. Being the Owner and the Creative Director to her own company keeps her quite busy, especially when that business offers event design, photography, florals, & local workshops. Is there anything she can’t do?! We certainly don’t think so!

When you work with Andi Mans- the company, you get Andi Mans- herself as she is very hands-on with all of her clients & projects. Her team is equally amazing and together with Andi they work incredibly hard to deliver the best services. We’ve had the pleasure of working with Andi on several styled shoots and weddings, as well as, other special events. We have nothing but kind words to say about Andi, her team, & her business.

Here are her answers to some of our most burning questions!

How did you get your start?

I actually was in the music/media industry before entering the wedding industry! I have a love for journalism, community and everything creative. I first got my “foot in the door” through my love for photography, after spending about 6 years shooting, I missed my hands being on artsy side and transformed my business into a one-stop creative business offering brides and all clients of all kinds, creative event services!

What services do you offer?

Event Design & Coordination, Styling, Floral, Photography and local creative Workshops!

How would you describe your décor/ design style?

I’m a huge lover of nature and the outdoors, there’s something to be said about having a beautiful backdrop outside with simple yet elegant accents that compliment your surroundings without going overboard! My heart is a mix of bohemian, organic and minimalist modern. But we can cater to any style, each event makes it so much fun, because each are so unique!

How do you keep up with the latest wedding trends?

Wedding trends come and go, but some return! I try to stay current but not let it dictate my branding nor a bride/client. Small elements are great to incorporate but I don’t think anything should have a “theme” per say,. A good balance is key!

What sets you apart from others?

I’d like to think that we all are unique and special, and I just extremely love what I do. I’m passionate in all of my services equally. My clients become my friends. I want them have a completely happy and stress free process. I believe my unique background provides a special experience.

What advice would you give Brides during the design/planning process?

Pick two things about your wedding that are most important to you. Keep bridal parties on the lower side if you can and remember that, although having an aesthetically pleasing wedding can be impressive and beautiful, what your wedding is about… is your love for one another. Don’t add extra formalities if you aren’t “crazy” about them and think outside the box. Do your own thing, there are no rules! Believe it or not, guests love new traditions. Hire a professional to help you sort all of your ideas out!! 🙂 haha!

Who is your style icon?

Martha Stewart. I appreciate her “jack of all trades” attitude. She has made a brand that has surpassed one thing, and everything she touches is beautiful and consistent in detail and lifestyle. She’s a business woman and has found success through multiple ventures, and I love that about her. I believe a true creative never stops at just one thing.

When you’re not helping clients, what can we find you doing?

Sipping coffee, day dreaming of new projects and spending time with friends and family. I truly love my community, my church, and I’m currently writing a faith based book for women. I love to work out and trying new recipes in the kitchen!

Fun Facts about you:

I had a full length recorded album with Sony Records when I was 19! Yup, I sang!

I was a guest on the Steve Harvey show in Chicago!

I love love love Fashion, and have a growing obsession with shoes! AH!

I’m a Sci-Fi nerd!

I love going to watch musicals/orchestra shows! Super hopeless romantic obviously!

Trendy Vendy: Overeasy Events

blog12We are thrilled to feature Overeasy Events as our Trendy Vendy! We’ve had the honor of working with Overeasy Events on numerous weddings & events, and we have nothing but rave reviews for this talented team! For this post we spoke with the owner, Lora DeLorenzo, as well as Amy Pontius, Overeasy’s creative director. Together they are a dynamic duo that strive to make a client’s vision come to life! From the planning to the design, Overeasy has it covered!

Lora’s impressive professional background extends to the culinary world and she even opened up her own restaurant on Orlando’s Lake Eola! Lora utilizes her culinary and professional knowledge to give clients a unique and easy-going experience! Amy, with her background in Art History, gets inspired from the styles of the past and incorporates them into more modern looks, creating the perfect design for any event!

Get to know Lora and her company, Overeasy Events!

Where does the name “Overeasy Events” come from? How did the company get its start?

Lora: “The name was created when a close friend was planning an event in NYC. We were chatting on the phone and she said “I just wish this event was OVER because it’s not EASY working on all these details and the PLANNING is so tedious!” I knew then I wanted to create a name and logo that symbolized stress free, fun events! Our logo is fun and colorful with champagne to represent that we are devoted to planning events that will be remembered long after it’s over, & what’s a celebration without champagne?!”

What services do you offer?

Amy: “We offer event planning and coordination services, as well as design and styling for any type of event! Our services are customizable to suit our client’s individual needs. We also specialize in creating unique, one-of-a-kind experiences at locally and nationally renowned culinary destinations.”

How did you get your start in the Wedding industry?

Lora: “Being in the hospitality industry for over 15 years, in addition to corporate and milestone events that I have planned and designed, it’s the emotional connection that drew me into the planning weddings. It’s so rewarding to present the bride with inspirational ideas and helping her decide on choosing the perfect linen or centerpiece style.”

Amy, how does your background in Art History translate into your designs? How does it help you design for clients?

“Styles of the past influence the present, and when you’re studying art history you learn about the culture, the time period, the artist, basically everything that goes into making this piece of art. My knowledge of art history has been a great asset in teaching myself how to take elements from the past and apply them to modern design.”

How would you describe your design style?

Amy: “I don’t think I have one certain style, but my favorite looks are combinations of different or contrasting styles like: glamorous and bohemian or rustic and traditional. It keeps things interesting.”

How do you keep up with the latest trends?

Lora: “The top bridal sites continue to amaze me with ever changing ways- everyday there is a new trend! Over 1 million people are employed in the wedding industry alone which shows how we need to stay relevant in today’s market. We search for inspiration online and utilize wedding apps to stay inspired on-the-go. It is wedding season after all! But of course, I still really enjoy sitting down with a great bridal magazine on a Sunday afternoon with my English Bulldog cuddled by my side.”

What sets Overeasy Events apart?

Lora: “Our mission is to transform the ordinary into extraordinary- to provide a stress-free, fun, event planning experience while creating an event that meets the needs of our client’s. We want to exceed client expectations and make those who didn’t attend, wish they had! The comforting sense of ‘ease’ is provided every step of the way. Our well-nurtured partner and vendor relationships, and our dynamic and capable team produce unique, inspired, and unforgettable events that help us stand out!”

What advice would you give brides during the design process?

Amy: “Stay true to your styles and taste and don’t compare your wedding to others. Pinterest has changed the game when it comes to finding ideas but it’s easy to get overwhelmed with how many ideas are out there. You might have an idea you love, then see something else and feel compelled to change your whole vision. Go with your instincts! Pick elements and styles that best match you and your partner because that’s what it’s all about!”

Fun facts about Amy and Lora!

•Went to culinary school at Johnson and Wales. Recently completed the second level wine certificate through the International Sommelier Guild
•Son was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals
•Daughter is on the Wake Forest Dance Team
•Has a passion for Philanthropy- worked with Rock and Wrap it up! which helps kids in low income families through food collected from sports & music events

Trendy Vendy: Pavone Events

We feel so privileged to feature the Owner of Pavone Events and our dear friend, Andrea Pavone, as our Trendy Vendy this week! A boutique planning company specializing in personalized services and events, Andrea provides a wide range of services from planning and designing to budget review, management and vendor referrals. Andrea has been planning weddings and events in the Central Florida area for the last twelve years, working for Hilton Hotels and most recently the Waldorf Astoria Orlando. Known for her expertise in the Indian Wedding market, she loves planning celebrations of all types and sizes. Since the start of her company in early Fall of 2015, she has worked closely with couples to create an occasion that’s exciting and combines both their style and personality.

Her website displays her logo, a peacock, which was chosen because of its significance to the Pavone name in Italian. She signs off on her ‘About’ page with the heartening quote, “It’s a beautiful thing when a career and a passion come together.” This quote is so fitting, because her passion for what she does is inspiring, and it’s evident in the way she talks about her company, her services, and her clients.

Without further ado, get to know Andrea and her company, Pavone Events!

When did you decide you wanted to start up your own business?

I decided I wanted to start my own business over seven years ago. I was working in hotels, planning events and all of my friends kept telling me that I should go out on my own. After twelve years with Hilton Hotels, I finally took the jump into owning my own company and doing what I love. I have had a lot of help and support form my friendors, family and friends.

What is your favorite part about planning weddings?

I love getting to know my couples and being a part of making their vision come to life. Whether we meet at the tail end of the planning process or I’m with them every step of the way, my clients are giving me the opportunity to do what I love. The best compliment I can get is a referral from a client or great feedback that they were happy with their event and our services.

How crucial is day of/month of planning?

The last month is usually the most stressful for our couples. I usually try to have the timelines done at least two weeks prior to the wedding day so they can enjoy the last two weeks of being engaged. Since planning is what we do we are able to guide our clients and make sure all the bases are covered.

How do you keep up with the latest wedding trends?

I follow a lot of different people and boards on social media. Reading articles and networking with some of my favorite vendors are other ways I find inspiration and keep up with the latest trends.

What sets Pavone Events apart?

We are a boutique planning company and I am personally present at all of my weddings. We will not do more than four events a month and we do not do back to back weddings.

How would you describe your style as a wedding planner?

I personally love the more timeless neutral tones, such as champagne, ivory, blush, and metallic. I want to help my couples bring THEIR style to life on their wedding day. I love working with clients on creating a design that fits their personality. Whether it’s a country wedding or a garden affair, we want to be a part of their special day.

What advice do you like to give to newly engaged Brides?

First and foremost, HIRE A PLANNER! I did, and it was the best decision I made. Enjoy your engagement and the planning process. Always remember the reason you are getting married – you love each other and want to spend the rest of your lives together, nothing else matters at the end of the day.

Fun Facts about Andrea:

  • The largest wedding I planned was over 900 guests
  • In 30 days, I was able to plan a wedding of 500 guests
  • I have had a helicopter and an elephant in a wedding before. The bride arrived to the reception on the helicopter and the groom strolled in on the elephant!
  • Being the oldest of seven siblings, I have learned to adapt to situations that may arise.
  • Last year, I married my better half and hired a planner to do my wedding so I could show up and not have to worry about anything. Best thing I did.
  • My husband and I are rebuilding a home, and I have been involved in coordinating all of the details from design to conception. It has been a labor of love.

Keep up with Pavone Events on their website, blog, and social media!

Trendy Vendy: In Bloom Florist

We are thrilled to feature In Bloom Florist as our Trendy Vendy this week! In Bloom Florist is a family owned and operated florist located in Central Florida. With stores in Orlando and Heathrow/Lake Mary, they deliver to most of Central Florida. As a team, In Bloom Florist continues to exceed the expectations of their customers. We feel so privileged to work with a company like In Bloom, who’s level of extraordinary customer service and expertise sets them apart from the rest.

We had the opportunity to interview Janessa, the Director of Marketing at In Bloom. In our interview, Janessa shared everything from the heartwarming story behind the company, how they keep up with the latest trends, and everything in between!

In Bloom is a family owned and operated business. How cool! Can you tell us a little bit about that and the history behind In Bloom?

Yes, we are very proud to be family owned! In Bloom Florist has been owned and operated by native Orlandoan, John Kobylinski, and his wife Sally for more than 25 years. Flowers and plants have always had roots in John’s heart. He studied horticulture in college and started working at a local flower shop when he was 22. Sally grew-up in a family that was prominent in the floral industry in upstate New York for 2 generations. John & Sally met when she went to pick up her sister’s bridal floral from him at his local shop here in Orlando during Valentine’s Day weekend… could that story be any sweeter?

What sets In Bloom apart?

John has an innate ability to resolve any issue and go above and beyond for every customer. In a tough industry full of trend chasing, it can be challenging to find your voice in this business. But with In Bloom, John has found a way to remain true to the authentic foundation the shop is built on, while still showcasing their tailored, turn-key capabilities from each department. We are repositioning ourselves as a “Haute with Heart” design shop. We have the talent and the passion without the fuss! They are a local, family-run business first, but also understand the importance of global ideas and an expansive reach. GOTTA LOVE THAT COMBO!

“Offering savvy customers the freshest flowers with exceptional service… one bloom at a time.”

How long has In Bloom been in business?

25+ years, however, John has worked in floral for almost 40 years. Along with Sally’s familial history, the Kobylinski’s are now 5 generations strong in the floral game! In addition to that, our collective experience behind the design bench adds up to more than 240 years of design know-how and innovation.

What do you love most about working in the wedding industry?

We are family-run and love witnessing the growth of any family and creating personal stories behind every detail selected for each individual we work with. Our strategy is creating a narrative within the floral experience. Love is always in the air at In Bloom Florist. From the beautifully understated event to the most elaborate of designs, our events department has been helping couples build their floral visions for more than 10 years.

“In the end, it’s all about our couple’s vision and their story behind the flowers!”

How does In Bloom keep up with the latest trends in floral designs?

On a daily basis, we are all just trying to keep up with John and Sally’s innovative mindset! Floral is everywhere; fashion, art, music, pop-culture… we are listening to all of those channels. We actively pursue community trend-setters within all of those avenues to ensure we are prepared to align with a developing trend in the most organic way possible. John has fine-tuned his business model to have access to a larger variety and better quality of product than ever before. We showcase our designers creations on our Instagram feed and partner with industry innovators to challenge us to create more complex and thoughtful floral experiences. In addition to our amazing designers, we are blessed to have a strong behind-the-scenes team. Both of our lead event coordinators are the sweetest and most fearless ladies in town. They love what they do and will find a way to get any request executed beautifully! They are completely tuned into forecasting bridal trends and are well versed in what is happening within the marketplace.

What’s new with In Bloom?

Most recently we partnered with Solutions Bridal & Cat Lemus for two very different bridal marketing campaigns. These were perfect opportunities for us to display our forecasting capabilities regarding color trends, texture techniques and floral selection.

The In Bloom team is made up of…

Our in-house marketing team is a collection of professionals from the floral, beauty, fashion, entertainment and restaurant industries. All of these perspectives help to drive the quirky nature that is In Bloom Florist. Above all, we are surrounded by a team of designers that are the toughest broads and gents in the game. With ultimate vision and support from our lead designer, Erin, we like to think that we are growing into the local shop to watch. But the truth is we’ve always been here, quietly growing and servicing our clientele while focusing on what we love the most, customer service.

Trendy Vendy: Orange Blossom Bride

This week, we are so excited to feature the brilliant Amanda Schmidt, Owner/Editor of Orange Blossom Bride. Orange Blossom Bride, the ultimate wedding resource for Central Florida brides, has just broken ground. Featuring local vendors, blogs, inspiration and tips, as well as local events, this site will serve as a very beneficial tool for brides in the Central Florida area.

Amanda has had huge success in this industry prior to the startup of her website, as she is also the Owner of Timeless Charm, a rental company specializing in vintage and antiques. It was a pleasure getting to know Amanda, and what led her to bring this astonishing idea to life.

1. Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I am a wife and mother of 2 wonderful kiddos, antique and wedding junkie, and I am originally from New Orleans, LA so I guess it is in my blood to love a good celebration.
2. What inspired you to start up Orange Blossom Bride?
I had been in the wedding industry for almost a year with my vintage rental company, Timeless Charm. I enjoyed following the national blogs but it seemed like they were always featuring weddings with landscapes that we just don’t have here in Central Florida. When I realized that there weren’t any wedding blogs just for the Central Florida bride, a light bulb went off! We also have so many great vendors in the area, I wanted to showcase their beautiful work for local brides to see.

3. When did you launch your website?
We officially launched the blog on January 20th, 2016.
4. Where did your passion for weddings begin?
From growing up watching movies like Father of the Bride and Steel Magnolias (I mean who doesn’t love the colors blush and bashful) to spending hours with my cousin planning and rehearsing our future weddings, I have loved weddings since I was a little girl. As I grew up, I began to really appreciate the meaning behind a wedding. There is just something about seeing the love and happiness a couple shares on their wedding day. It’s truly beautiful!
5. What should brides expect when visiting your website?
When brides visit Orange Blossom Bride, they will find local Central Florida venues, vendors, inspiration, and real weddings, along with great ideas and tips, for their big day. We also offer a list of local bridal shows and showcases.
6. What sets your website apart from other resources available for brides (websites, magazines, wedding expos, etc.)?
What makes our blog unique is that we only accept and post photography from local Central Florida photographers and only in our areas, so brides will be able to get inspiration from locations that they could actually have their wedding and vendors that they can actually hire.
7. Do you have any advice for newly engaged brides?

Enjoy this time! Wedding planning can get crazy and stressful but its so important to step back every once in a while and remember that this is a celebration of the love the two share. Everything will fall into place and your day will be beautiful!

Check it out!

Trendy Vendy: Runway Events

rebekkah-rosado-runway-11This week, we are so excited to feature the owner of Runway Events, Rebekkah Rosado, who is just as sweet and bubbly as you would expect. Whether you explore her website, exchange a few e-mails or meet her in person, you will be completely drawn to her and in awe of her genuine personality and passion for what she does. This coffee connoisseur also appreciates good music and a delightful glass of red wine. Her company specializes in everything across the event planning spectrum – from month of/day of, partial and full wedding coordination, to concerts, rehearsals, fashion shows and destination weddings. They even take care of the floral, styling and the design of the event!

We have thoroughly enjoyed working with Rebekkah over the years. Rebekkah and her team are very well-known in the Orlando area as fun, but hard working professionals who go above and beyond for their clients, and you’re about to see why:

When did you decide you wanted to start up your own business?

“It was the scariest but the most rewarding decision I have ever made…”

My dad has always been an entrepreneur. He’s a dreamer and super creative – so growing up I saw the good, bad and ugly of the business world. I adored the fact that i could dream big and as long as I was motivated and hard working enough I could reach them! I worked for many different companies throughout my life and I was never completely happy. Although grateful for the opportunities, I had a higher standard of excellence that was restricted with the companies I was employed with. In 2012, I realized I wanted to own my own event planning company. I worked two other jobs while working on a business plan, brainstorming and taking on my first few clients. It was the scariest but the most rewarding decision I have ever made. I am so blessed to have an amazing and supporting husband on my side to keep my motivated to do what I love!

What is your favorite part about planning weddings?

Oh gosh, literally everything. I may be a little crazy but I love running around like a crazy person, meeting deadlines and rolling with the punches. I think the most rewarding moment is seeing the vision of the couple come to life and seeing their faces when they walk down the aisle. First look or not, it’s still a breathtaking moment.

How do you keep up with the latest wedding trends?

Blog! Plus, almost every other major metropolitan areas get trends before we do so I am always researching what the top industry professionals are doing and taking their lead on standards and design.

How would you describe your style as a wedding planner?

“I am not only their wedding planner but also a friend during the process.”

I am organized and detail oriented but I also believe in actually enjoying your wedding planning process! I am a big believer in setting expectations to avoid confusion and elevate stress. I love to have fun. I honestly think one of the hardest things about planning is the fact that family and friends can be overwhelming and stressful. I always leave my door open for my couples to reach out. I love fashion, music and the entertainment world and am always learning and growing and striving to be the best I can be!

How crucial is day of/month of planning, in your opinion?

Insanely important. I completely understand if budget doesn’t allow couples to hire someone for full or partial planning but seriously, I have no idea how anyone can put together a successful event without one point of contact. As a day of/month of coordinator, I touch base with all the vendors involved in the wedding. Because I plan a wedding almost every weekend, I know what to look out for, help avoid mistakes that have happened in the past and honestly streamline the process. This way, your photographer can get the best photos, DJ can focus on actually playing music and your catering can make sure the food is nice, fresh, and served on time.

What sets Runway Events apart?

Honestly, we’re fun. You will get a few serious moments from us, but for the most part we want you to enjoy your day with your style and have a few laughs along the way. Everything is better with a smile on your face! We keep up with trends and fashion and want to make your wedding timeless. We are honest and up front about what works and what doesn’t – just because we want your day to be absolutely amazing and you to look back saying it was one of the best days of your life.

What advice do you like to give to newly engaged Brides?

HIRE A PLANNER! HAHA, just kidding – but really. Remember what this day is truly about. You can get so preoccupied with family drama, finances, logistics and design but remember at the end of the day it’s about the moment you get to share with the love of your life. Lastly, BE YOU. I think the most successful weddings are a direct reflection of the bride and groom and you can see it everywhere you look. When you try too hard to be someone else – or someone different – it can show. When you look back at the photos or the videos, you won’t be as happy as if you kept it close to your heart.

I have to ask on behalf of all of the fellow coffee lovers out there, what is your favorite coffee shop in Orlando?

OH MAN! Vespr in Waterford Lakes is one of my favorites. I also love Downtown Credo in College Park. I love to support local businesses, as they are some cool people, too.
